I, like many other women, have tried numerous different diets that have enabled me to lose a couple of pounds but as soon as the diet stops I have gained more weight.
After having my baby I found it extremely hard to lose weight and lost my self confidence. I was in a vicious circle, having a daily battle with myself, I wanted to lose weight but couldn't and considered there was no point in trying and would give up.
Having watched a television programme about hypnotherapy for weight loss I thought I would try it. My friend and I booked onto the SlimQuest program not really knowing what to expect but completely with an open mind.
I found the course completely refreshing as it was not a diet at all but a new way of thinking and living.
I was completely amazed at how I didn't even think about food and how these crazy techniques were actually really working, because not only was I actually losing weight, but I was gaining confidence and had a goal in sight that felt achievable!!
I lost 16lbs on the 6 week course and by continuing to use what I learnt, have now lost a total of 31lbs and am a size 10! I would recommend this course to anybody who wants to lose weight and feel good about themselves.
I love how it feels to go clothes shopping now and not think everything looks awful because I'm fat!!
My weight has never been particularly extreme but
neither has it been stable. At 5'11" I have yo-yoed
up and down between 10stone 10lbs and 12stone 5lbs
all my life (especially post pregnancies). While I
have always enjoyed exercise it became another thing
with which to brow-beat myself as I battled to control
my weight.
Weight-loss groups and diets failed with extra weight
appearing as soon as I returned to my normal routine.
Misery.
I heard about the basic premise of NLP/hypnosis as
an aid to weight loss via the best seller book by Paul
McKenna 'I can make you thin'. The ideas made sense
and I tried to put them in to practise several times
but either the time wasn't right for me or I needed
the 'hands-on' approach of a class.
A couple of years after reading the book I saw a local
advertisement for the SlimQuest. I immediately recognised
the model and I signed up.
Five months on having completed the course I am thrilled.
I am very happy with the way I look. I have been shopping
and am wearing clothes I have only ever dreamed of
buying and feel fantastic. People keep commenting on
how good I look and I am feeling more consistently
confident than I ever have.
I do suffer from confidence lapses but on the whole
I am beginning to relax and believe that my new self
is here for the long-term. I now know that I have a
monthly cycle of eating mirroring my menstrual cycle.
My hunger increases the week before my cycle and relaxes
after it balancing out over the month. My confidence
fluctuates accordingly and I can 'panic' that I'm 'losing
it' during these times, but, as my weight has remained
stable for over 3 months now I am beginning to trust
it is all part and parcel of the whole.
What I love about this programme is that I have not
felt deprived of food. Yes, sometimes I have craved
something that I don't actually need, but as I have
not had to give up any food-type, these cravings have
been manageable. To begin with there was a deliberate
concentration to instigate the method which took thought
and effort, but as time has progressed, despite holidays
and wondering whether I could really do it, the weight
come off at about 1-2lbs/wk. and then settled to around
or under 1lb/month.' I weigh myself once/month directly
after my period. I am proud to say that I am now 3-4lbs
off my target weight. I am so happy as I am and with
the way I look that if I never lose it I don't
care. I eat what I want when I am hungry, sometimes
I break the rules but my body, now that I trust it
to do what it is designed to do, is looking after me
in return.
In the past I have put myself on strict diets and lost weight, but then I can't keep it up so it all goes back on again. This time I don't even feel like eating or drinking the wrong things, I have automatically gone for the right things without a thought and I have no more cravings.
This has been so easy, not like before. I did slimming clubs before and hated them, I didn't learn anything about why I choose the wrong food or drink, just went for a humiliating stand on the scales and that was it.
I got so much out of SlimQuest and I know this will be a forever change. I am losing around 1lb to 2lbs per week, which for me is amazing. I loved the course and Catherine you made it fab.
In just 6 weeks SlimQuest has put me on course
to stop yoyo dieting and now my subconscious and conscious
are both 'batting for the same team', to keep to a new lifestyle
dietary regime and enjoy exercising my way. A new confident
me, in control of my eating and loving life again, without
craving those bad choices and getting rid of negative emotions
and thoughts.
I will never be able to thank SlimQuest and
John enough, all I ever dreamt of was that losing weight could
be a little easier than I was struggling with, and it is!
Thank you.
I'm doing the current course and have found it AMAZING. I have lost
12 pound in the last 6 weeks and found it easy.
I now find that I naturally choose healthier foods and am really
enjoying the taste of vegetables. Best of all I have finally beaten my
addiction to biscuits. I have recomended this course to all of my
friends.
I am ecstatic with the results of the course, I can fit into
all my clothes, am making more effort with my appearance, more
confident and like myself again.
I will never be able to thank SlimQuest and John enough. All
I ever dreamt of was that losing weight could be a little easier
than I was struggling with – and it is! Thank you
Before making the decision to go to SlimQuest I was getting into bad habits with food and not able to find the motivation to do anything about the weight I was putting on.
I looked on the internet at possible ways of losing weight when I come across SlimQuest. I attended the classes with a friend, which was a good idea, as we were able to share the experience and help each other out.
Within two weeks of the course I felt I was gaining control of food and motivating myself with the techniques that Amy taught us. My confidence was growing and I was actually enjoying every part of the "hypno experience" mainly because I didn't feel that food and exercise were the enemy anymore. I eat when I am hungry and exercise because I know I have to, the difference is I didn't have the person in my head battling with me to not go!!!
I cannot recommend hypnotherapy enough and especially with Amy leading the class. I really looked forward to attending the weekly group sessions as we also had the time to speak about how we were feeling and if we felt that we had not been doing so well Amy was always able to reassure us or teach us another technique to help us on our way.
Since I have taken on board all the techniques and with Amy's help I have lost 11lbs and go to the gym at least 4 times a week. I finally have control over what I eat and how I feel.
Slimquest really has helped me in so many ways and I would like to thank Amy and the programme for helping me.
SlimQuest gives a whole new outlook on life, as you re-evaluate what you have been doing, and you don't really notice the small changes until you suddenly notice you have lost weight and feel more confident.
I was a chocoholic, not a day went by when I didn't eat at least one bar now I am indifferent! It has been 3 months since I ate it, and I still can't believe it!!
I attended a SlimQuest course for 6 weeks at Alton Cardiac Rehab with Catherine and lost 14lbs. It was very easy, the group was great, I went because I wanted to lose weight, but I felt so relaxed and revitalised when I came out of each session, that I continued to go because I felt so well!
Being hypnotised is not like I have seen on the telly, with people being made to do silly things it is just like a deep relaxation, I knew exactly what was going on all the time. Since the course in October I have continued to lose weight and getting nearer my target weight, I am hoping it will stay that way, if not I will not hesitate to book myself onto the next course.
So if you are thinking about it I would recommend that you go, it has changed my attitude to food, I now feel I am in control.
After years of dieting and trying to keep the weight off I finally feel positive about my future size. I don't constantly think about food all day, wondering what I can have next and when. I can positively say no to fattening foods without feeling I have missed out on something yummy! Although I can eat what I want I find I am eating much less ad if I fancy something I have it - but the urge to do this is rare. I have purchased smaller plates (which the whole family seem to like) and I use a smaller fork so that food takes longer to eat and is more satisfying. I don't have second helpings and I am even cooking less quantities so there are no leftovers. I go to the gym 3 - 5 times per week and enjoy it! I do all the above without even thinking about it. I am losing weight steadily and am anxiously awaiting the day I will achieve my own goal.
For me this course has changed my way of thinking about and the ways I eat my foods. I am eating smaller portions enjoying the tastes of my foods and enjoying different more healthier food choices. I am surprised how easy it has become to listen to my body, recognise when I'm full up and not to want to overeat any more. I have broken the cycle of self-sabotage and feel like food is no longer constantly on my mind. It has become almost an afterthought.
