SlimQuest Success in Gloucestershire

In November 2009 I ran my first Slimquest weight loss course at Stroud College in Gloucestershire.

As a fully qualified Cognitive Hypnotherapist and an NLP Master Practitioner with a therapy practice in Stonehouse and previous weight loss clients, I was surprised I felt a little apprehensive because I have several years experience of using these techniques.  However, this was the first  time I had facilitated a group hypnosis program. And wow! What a result. I was bowled over by the response I got.

 By session 4 I could see changes in the groups’ body language and the words they used were

 starting to get a lot more positive as they started to notice changes. I tell my class on the  first session that they can eat whatever they want and, by week four, they began to realise they just didn’t want those old foods because that ‘diet mentality’ was fading, leaving the clients more in control.

Week 5 - and the changes are starting to take hold. Hairstyles are changing, new clothes are being worn and the belief they can lose weight is bedding in.

 On week six, I ask for them to weigh themselves so we can get valuable feedback. On this course, three  of the class decided not to weight themselves because, over the past five  weeks, their confidence, self esteem and  feeling of being in control had grown and developed  so much more than had existed at the start of the class. For these 3, feeling so good about themselves was far more important than what they weighed.  And, for me, that was a brilliant decision.  Feeling good about yourself is so important as it allows you to believe you can do it.

One class member told the group they had be going to a weekly slimming meeting on and off for 10 years without a result and it suddenly dawned on her that for all those years she was paying £4.50 a week to be told that she has not lost weight.

 And, the comment that made all the preparation and work worthwhile was one class member who commented  ” I now like myself again!”  The only thing I’d like to ask you, the reader, is how good would you like to feel about yourself? Without dieting?
